One of my sites under attack
I always used the internet since the first day they start to offer internet access in Brazil. I built a lot of sites to be used in this domain, and I like to buy other domains and build more sites.
In all these years I never had a problem with hackers. I pay attention to security though. I change my password really often, I never use the same password in my sites, I keep my scripts up to date.
Yesterday I had a surprise though. One of my sites was flagged for sending phishing messages. I don´t even know what that means exactly.
I know that you can get an email that will send you to a fake page and it might be dangerous because they can steal your password.
I didn´t know that a site could have a invasion and a phishing script could be used.
Anyway, I was ready to search for information about that but I decided to put the site down. I think the script I was using wasn´t safe at all and since it was meant to the download of mp3 songs, and it might be considered an illegal activity, I think it was a good idea to give up on the site.
So, my site getamp3.com is not working anymore. Sorry if you used it to find your songs.
Renting a house versus going to a hotel
My family goes on vacation every year. They love to travel to the beach but at first it was kind of expensive. They used to stay at a hotel.
Hotels are great. You are offered not only a room but a lot of services as well. It is comfortable to be at a hotel but it is expensive.
Then my parents decided to rent a house and they found out how this can be great. They save a lot of money by doing that and even if they don´t have the services a hotel has they still feel comfortable.
I think that renting a house is a good thing if you are going to stay more than 15 days in a place. Not all cities have apartments for rent for a short period, that´s true, but you should at least do a research and try to find an apartment. Check the price and location.
In US there are some cities that have great apartments for rent. There are more apartments for rent if you are staying more than one month, that´s true.
For instance, if you want to find Austin Apartments try to make a research and you will find a lot of offers. You can search by price, zip code, area and more.
That´s an advice I always give. Make a research before rushing into things, anything.
How to locate someone
A long time ago, years before the Internet, I used to write to people from other countries. This people I met through a program called Pen Pal.
I would send them my mail address, name, languages I could talk and preferences about my pen pals. Then I would receive a list of names and address and I could start sending them letters.
I had a friend from South Africa who I met using this program but after some years I lost contact with her. Until one day I decided to locate her. Her name was unique so it was easy to search for that name on the Internet.
Now it is easy to locate a person using tools like this People Search tool. I tested it and I could find my friend again.
I need a good template
I am searching for a nice and professional template. It is easy to find Wordpress templates, but most of them are full of roses, cute cats, flowers. Rubis and diamonds are nice but not in a website.
I don´t have anything against nice and girly template. But I am searching for a template to be used in a professional site.
I have found some nice templates but they were too simple, too normal. Some other templates I have found are to dark. I don´t like dark sites because it is difficult to read. If you know about a good site with nice templates please tell me.
