Changing my job

It’s been a while since my last post. I have been really busy so I couldn’t post for a while. I am changing jobs so I have to do a lot of things.

I don’t know how these things work in other countries, but in Brazil when someone gets fired or just wants to quit their job they can withdraw a certain amount of money that had been saved for them by the company where they worked.

It is a great thing because when you get fired or quit your job you will need some money to start in a new job.

This way people can pay their bills, their term life insurance quote, their car financing and other stuff. That’s exactly my case. I am going to use that extra money to pay my bills.

Tell me how things work in your country, please. I am really curious.

PDA and smartphones are really useful

I didn’t know that my doctor could use a PDA or an Iphone in his work. There is a software called Epocrates that can be used in PDA and smartphones. It is used by more than 500,000 healthcare professionals.

They can have it in their PDA or smartphones, as I said. The have access to the information they will need to prescribe the medicine, like drug dosing, side effects and health plan coverage.

Sometimes a patient is already taking a drug but he still have the problem. The doctor can use his mobile device and check for potentially harmful interactions between the drug the patient is already taking and the drug the doctor wants to prescribe.

Epocrates drug reference guide is available for multiple devices and offers clinicians:

Free medical Palm software
Free medical Windows Mobile software

There are some free medical applications for iphone that will be really useful for physicians.

Now when I see a doctor with a PDA I will not think he is taking a time for himself and getting fun.

E quase que o terremoto acabou com a chatice

Desde que a Isabela morreu, todos os canais só falam disso. Os jornalistas parece que se divertem com isso, credo!

Daí um dia eu ligo a TV e estão falando de um terremoto. E só disso. Achei que iam largar o osso antigo e pegar o novo, deixando as pessoas em paz.

Eu estava muito enganada. Esses povo consegue morder dois ossos ao mesmo tempo.

I Signed up for SocialSpark and…

I have signed up for many programs that would pay me to blog. In the beginning I was making a lot of money and couldn’t be happier.

Until my pagerank dropped. The companies didn’t want me anymore. Three of them never let me down. Payperpost was one of them.

I was happy again, posting everyday without problems. Then I received a key to be used in SocialSpark Alpha tests. I love to test new systems so I signed up.

I got many jobs and wrote about them. They will pay me a good money. Social Spark uses RealRank instead of Pagerank, so it doesn’t matter how many backlinks you have in your site.

They want to know how many visitors your blog is receiving. Mine is getting quite a few. Not as much as before but I can’t complain. So I am qualified to get many jobs.

You have to finish them in the same day and they will pay you 30 days after the approval. You are going to be paid through Paypal, by the way.

For now I feel that the system is nice, well designed. There are some things that I think could be changed but they are at Beta phase now, so they will make changes until the final release.

Some things I would change right now. The dynamic price is one of them. They will tell you that an opp will be paid let’s say $20 bucks. But since many bloggers want that opp the price will drop and you finish getting paid $5 dollars.

I really don’t like that.

But overall I must say that the system is fair and for now I will keep using it.

Modem 3g da Claro

Faz um tempinho que eu comentei sobre o modem 3g da Claro. Na época era uma novidade e poucas pessoas tinham. Eu usei uns dois meses antes de emprestar pro meu irmão que precisava mais do que eu.

Algum tempo depois ele não precisava mais, mas eu sim, então peguei de volta e descobri que o modem estava sofrendo uma espécie de recall.

A Claro sabia que aquele modelo estava com problemas mas esperou os clientes entrarem em contato, ao invés de simplesmente fazer o recall.

De qualquer forma, lá fui eu trocar o modem.

Agora estou com um modelo branquinho que parece um comprimido de paracetamol, de tão feio.

Se fosse um comprimido de paracetamol acho que seria mais útil porque a dor de cabeça que ele anda me causando…

Um inferno. Quando entra na rede EDGE Claro, o modem simplesmente para de funcionar. Você tá lá, navegando, e do nada cai a conexão e o sistema nem te avisa. Você crente que tudo está funcionando e nada.

Dai você tenta se conectar de novo, e demora um século. Vai tomar um café, comprar pão de queijo, fofocar com o vizinho. Depois de um tempão você volta a se conectar.

Pior que conexão discada em 1996.

A proposta é ótima e acho que em uns dois anos usar um modem desse vai ser a coisa mais normal do mundo. Mas o caminho é de pedra e a Claro é incapaz de fazer seus clientes felizes.
